As part of the GRAZ BACKSTAGE project, we are developing a network of cycle paths and a guide that will lead through the logistics landscape in and around Graz in several thematic sections. We will offer special rest and anchor points and information terminals at selected logistics archipelagos designed by us.
For the development and testing of the route we also organise a series of guided cycling tours. On these tours we move in a mobile multilocal symposium with musical accompaniment and culinary emergency supplies to various infrastructure nodes that were and are of great importance for the management of the "metabolism" of the city of Graz. However, these huge agglomerations also represent (displaced and often suppressed) working and living spaces of experts in supply and disposal, which make our everyday well-being in the city possible in the first place: We will therefore travel from historical sites such as the old railway station post office, vegetable market and slaughterhouse, or the waste disposal in Sturzgasse, to current locations such as the container terminal in Cargo Center Süd, SWISSport Luftfracht, the brand new distribution centre of Post AG, the SPAR and REWE central warehouse, the waste disposal facilities of Saubermacher and SERVUS, as well as other logistics nodes.
